Bungalows at Kaliwa Lodge
Our bungalows offer a more spacious and private way to experience Kaliwa Lodge. Set slightly apart from the main lodge, they provide a quiet and relaxed atmosphere while still keeping the warm, welcoming feeling close by.
Each bungalow is carefully positioned to make the most of the surroundings, with views stretching toward Mount Kilimanjaro and across the lush forest canopy into the Weru Weru River Valley. Elevated above the trees, you feel fully immersed in nature, with a sense of space and calm throughout your stay.
Inside, the design is simple and refined. Natural materials, clean lines, and large windows create a bright and comfortable space, while the mountain-facing balcony connects you directly to the landscape outside.

Our Kaliwa Rooms are the heart of the lodge—simple, cozy, and full of atmosphere. Located closest to the main building, they are surrounded by the everyday rhythm of Kaliwa, where guests gather, share stories, and enjoy the relaxed mountain setting.
Designed with a strong connection to nature, the rooms feature large windows and an open feel that lets in fresh air, soft light, and the sounds of the forest. At night, you may hear the gentle calls of galagos—often known as bush babies—along with the quiet chorus of the surrounding wilderness. It’s a truly immersive experience, bringing you closer to the environment around you.
The rooms are intentionally compact and thoughtfully designed, making them ideal for travelers who prefer a lighter, simpler way of staying. We recommend traveling with smaller luggage, as space is limited—perfect for those on safari or passing through for a few nights.
