Kaliwa Lodge sits on the green slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, surrounded by forest, gardens, and wide mountain views. Built with local craftsmanship and natural materials, it combines thoughtful design with a personal, welcoming atmosphere.

Spaces to Gather and Retreat
From the dining room and library to the fireplace and shaded terraces, Kaliwa offers spaces to gather, read, eat, and simply slow down. The atmosphere is relaxed and personal, with quiet corners as well as places to share the day with other guests.
Time Outdoors
The pool, gardens, forest views, and mountain air invite you to spend much of the day outdoors. Mornings begin quietly, afternoons unfold at an easy pace, and evenings often end with a sundowner as Kilimanjaro appears through the clouds.
Made by Hand, Shaped by Place
Much of Kaliwa was made on site by local craftspeople and the lodge team. Stone walls, timber details, steel window frames, cushions, and curtains reflect a hands-on approach that gives the lodge its distinctive character.
